Russian authorities are set to implement stricter rules for gaming service providers, requiring user identification as part of new regulations introduced in a draft law on video game labeling.

According to the proposed legislation, gaming companies will be obligated to verify the identities of their users through the state portal “Gosuslugi,” the Unified Biometric System, a phone number, or alternative systems managed by Russian legal entities.

In addition to user identification requirements, video game distributors will also be required to provide detailed information to users. This includes the game’s age rating, its key features, and the presence of any in-game payment options.

These measures aim to enhance user accountability and ensure compliance with the country’s legal standards for digital entertainment.
